Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pauzzy ("Pauzzy", "we", "us") collects, uses and shares information when you use the Pauzzy app and this website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to this policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
The short version. Pauzzy is a messaging app with per-chat notification control. We collect what we need to run your account, deliver messages, and apply the notification schedules you set. We don't sell your personal information. Questions? Email contact.pauzzy@gmail.com.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details, such as your name, email address or phone number, and profile information you choose to add.
- Messages and content you send or receive through the Service, including text and any attachments, along with related details such as time sent and who it was sent to.
- Your notification settings, including the people and groups you pause, the schedules you set, which ones you allow to notify you, and any optional auto-response you turn on.
- Messages to us, such as support requests.
Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data, such as device model, operating system, app version, language, time zone, and a push notification token.
- Usage and diagnostic data, such as features used, crashes and performance information.
Information from your device, only with your permission
- Notifications, so we can send you alerts and summaries.
- Contacts, if you choose to let Pauzzy find people you know. You can turn this off in your device settings.
2. How we use information
- Provide, operate and maintain the Service, including delivering messages.
- Control when messages and notifications reach you based on the schedules you set. Senders cannot change your schedule.
- Send you a summary of the messages you received in a chat while its pause was active, when that pause ends.
- Show senders that you're paused and when notifications are expected to resume, and send optional auto-responses if you turn them on.
- Send service messages, such as security alerts and updates to our terms.
- Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
- Monitor performance, fix bugs, and improve the Service.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
3. What other people can see
When you pause notifications for a person or group, senders can see that you're paused and when notifications are expected to resume. If you turn on optional auto-responses, they may also receive your auto-response. Messages you send in a conversation are visible to the other participants in it.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in these cases:
- Service providers that help us run the Service, such as cloud hosting, push notification delivery (for example Apple Push Notification service), analytics, and customer support tools. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety reasons, if we believe disclosure is required by law or needed to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or Pauzzy.
- Business changes, such as a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will tell you if your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different policy.
- With your consent or at your direction.
5. How long we keep information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep some of it for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong password or passcode and keep your device up to date.
7. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction. You can review and update much of your information in the app.
- Deletion. You can ask us to delete your account and personal information by emailing contact.pauzzy@gmail.com.
- Notifications and permissions. You can change notification, contacts and other permissions in your device settings at any time.
- Marketing emails. If we send them, you can unsubscribe using the link in the message.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights, such as the right to access, port, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to withdraw consent. If you live in California, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete and correct your information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising them. If you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any right, email contact.pauzzy@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity first.
8. Children
Pauzzy is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it. Where local law sets a higher minimum age, you must meet that age to use the Service.
9. International transfers
We and our service providers may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
